I Robot is a science fiction movie with a raised topic of Artificial
Intelligence on the robot. Creating an interaction between
humans and robots. The film is set in Chicago, USA, in 2035. The robots have
taken over human tasks, from collecting trash, to serving as sending packets, but
Del Spooner (Will Smith) is not part of it. Spooner lifestyle as it is today, without
the help of a kind of NS5 robot, he uses ordinary VCD player, skate shoes, regular
TV, and without the help of robots. Spooner believed that the robot had the opportunity
to commit crimes, but the robot can not be charged under the law, so that the
world is threatened will be dominated by robots
This movie tells about a police
officer (detective) government
in uncovering a case
of murder of a creator type NS5 robot named Sonny (Alan
Tudyk). Sonny is
a robot which
seemed to have a heart, and it
can feel angry, sad, happy, etc., and
it also can
imitate expression of other
human. Will Smith's role as Del Spooner,
the police (detective) who investigates the murder of Dr. Alfred Lanning
(James Cromwell). He was allegedly killed
by the suicide of his office,

truth about these events, and he was sure
that who killed him is a robot. No one believed

types, until he was assisted by a robot psychologist
Dr. Susan Calvin
(Bridget Moynahan), whose job is to make robots
more human. They are trying to uncover the true facts of
the case.
In
the story, there is a program error in the manufacture of NS5 robots, where
professional robots are created to break the laws that have been established
over time. Thus comes the destructive professional robots that do not obey the
human. All the type of NS5 robots are being rebel to humans, causing a war
between humans and robots. To improve the system, V.I.K.I (NS5 robot server
system) must be demolished, and a nanite liquid have to injected directly into
its brain, so that the entire NS5 robot can be disabled. By passing many
hurdles, especially NS5 professional robots revolt, they go into defense
systems NS5 server. Sponner suffered many attacks from the robots, starting
from sabotage in the tunnel, demolitions attack the doctor, to hostaged Dr.
Susan.
This movie picked up various kinds of the latest technological
developments, such as the Virtual
Reality, Holographic Reality,
and provides a very good message in welcoming today's
technology era. Technology
is like a knife
blade, which from
one side, technology can be very
useful in helping the working man,
but on the other hand, technology can be a boomerang
for the man himself. Humans should be able
to sort choosing wisely what work should be done
by computers (robots), and what
work should be done by humans,
to provide the level of risk in every job that
can be done by a computer (robot). In addition, people should be more wise in
using technology in the social
field, however, because the robot is not as perfect as human beings, especially human beings have a heart and feelings, but robots are not. The
robot is a human creation,
so humans should control
the robot life, and not vice versa.
